About Us

*TALO community*
A women-led social enterprise.

TALO embodies the cultural value of empowering one another through the sharing of knowledge. This concept is taken to an organisational level, providing underrepresented communities with access to information and support to facilitate progress in all areas of their lives.

Established in 2017, TALO was founded with the objective of enhancing accessibility for individuals encountering obstacles that may not be readily apparent or given priority as impediments to accessing services. Bristol, being a city characterised by diversity, also exhibits significant disparities in terms of wealth and opportunities. The organisation’s primary goal is to enhance the economic status and personal wealth of the community, foster social engagement, and strengthen relationships within both the family unit and broader society.

Through the key priorities of positive representation and positive engagement, Team TALO strives to empower families by modelling the support from a lived experience perspective and encouraging them to have a go within a safe environment.

This empowering approach is welcomed by our service-users and is the essence of a long list of successful activities that include family half-term trips, Queen's night dinner, Eid festivals, children baking classes, bike rides, childcare courses, health and school's curriculum information sessions to name a few. TALO community provides invaluable community support and through this, has built trust and a strong reputation.
